Feeling very inadequate but don't understand how I can view any available broadcasts. Can someone please provide a VERY simple step by step guide as to how to go about it starting from first accessing the NSN Home page? It would be much appreciated. I used to view broadcasts regularly on the "old" NSN without difficulty but this new version has me flummoxed.
Thanks

G'day Nyota, welcome. The first thing to do is go to the website here: www.nightskiesnetwork.com/You will notice 3 photos across the page: Eagle Nebula in Mono, Dumbell Nebula, and Saturn. They are just photos on the Home page. BUT!!! if you see another photo underneath them, that means someone is doing a live broadcast. Simply click on the frame and it will open the broadcast. If after a while you notice that you don't have any sound, just refresh the page. Sometimes sound starts immediately but other times sound comes after 1 or 2 refreshes. Or maybe no-one is talking in that particular broadcast. If you want to be able to type in the chatbox or talk using your microphone to join in the conversation you will need to register. Click on 'Sign Up' on the home page I hope this helps.

Thanks Ken. I don't think that I've yet seen a photo underneath the three "permanent" ones but I'll keep a look out.
Cheers Nyota

You really have to work out what time it is in the USA, UK and very occasionally Australia so you can see its night there. Check at those times. It would be lovely to have a email notification to subscribers when someone is on, but right now it is just up to you to check at random times to see who is on. For instance I am on the east coast of Australia and I know the US folk are usually on from about midday my time. Thats their night so likely to be broadcasting. There are a small number of solar broadcasts, so if keen on that I have found you just have to check regularly whenever you are on your PC to catch one of those. For instance its daytime here in Australia and about 11am and I just happened to check and I see there is a guy from the USA doing solar ... below is screenshot showing what the NSN screen looks like ... see Tacoma Sky Mr Wizard is broadcasting ... you just click on that frame saying Tacoma Skies - Mr Wizard and you will then get the second screen shot down below which is the actual broadcast with audio and a chat window and participants list .

I like your tag "Messier 27" dumbbell LOL after trying the windows seven computer. You'll find the newer, faster multi core machines work best on NSN.com with internet access above 12/2 mbps.
Hoping to get some more clear skies here in Tacoma for some solar action but our winter skies are in cloud mode
