I bought a qy5liii camera to stick on my orion guiderscope ,using sharp cap and I hate the thing, views in daylight are uninspiring to say least and struggle to pick up anything at night and its ready to get kicked into touch.. Im looking at maybe a modded 600d anyone using this and can you use movie mode or are you using the camera via canon software on a computer..davy

Lately, it has been a lot of the Mallincam AGc guider camera, but that's because I've been working on mount/alignment issues. For Solar, its been my Mallincam SSI or my ZWO ASI120MC
I've tried getting my Canon 450D (full spectrum mod) up and going, but have run into snags.
My Mallincam DSm (Mono) is impacted by my alignment challenges... its interlaced / dual exposure design really give me mediocre results unless I'm at a very wide field of view.
My poor Jr Pro has been gathering dust... I need to get her out and give her some air. Much of the year I don't use her due to the soup of warm pixels. Maybe if I tried Miloslick...

I am relatively new at this, I have a modded full spectrum Canon SL1 (100D?), and recently purchased a Mallincam Skyraider DS2.3+ So far it has really been a good setup, I can take relatively small exposures, stack them and come up with some good results. I just pulled the trigger on a good filter since galaxies seem to give me grief, so i bought a Lumicon DS 1.25 filter. Between this and the dark field correction the camera does, I am hoping to be showing a better broadcast when skies are clear in the city...

Canon 6D unmodded and Nikon 5100 with the Nikon hack, here. Decided to stick with DSLRs until I've got them down, before moving on. That may be the rest of my life!

Most of the time I am doing solar and I almost always grab the Samsung SDC43 over the much ballyhooed (but fails the hype in actual use) MC Signature. Once in a great while I can get out at night and I'll use a Mallincam EX-2-0 video system or the Universe (for the boring part of collecting photons all night). But if it's planetary or Lunar, I revert to the Sammy.
I'm starting to get enough practice with the Canon 7D Mk II on day time subjects that I'll prolly give it a whirl doing the moon next clear night, then with some swell programming that I still need to learn, I'll use it on DSO's...Problem is I have not had a decent clear night since September 14th 2015, but we could sell water to California by the ocean full an not miss a drop!
I can't pass up the rarely used QHY5LII mono camera I got two years ago...I wish it was the color model because I snagged the best solar shot using it!

Canon 350d DSLR, Mally Xtreme & Xterminator, old and new versions of Revolution Imagers, one standard and one modified Philips 840k Pro II ToUcams, Starlight Xpress SX-5c, and a Samsung SCC-A2333 (SCB-4000). I also have some sort of little planetary camera that I have never tried. One night I must give it a go, and if it works OK I'll give it to some kid to get started. Lately I have been using the Revolution Imager more than any of the others simply because it's the most fun camera to use in my collection. I also have my eye on the ZWO ASI224 and the Atik Infinity. Neither has grabbed me enough to jump on one yet, so I keep looking

I currently have a Canon Rebel T1000 I think it is, modded. Also have a Mallincam JrPro and a Samsung scb2000. Just getting into the DSLR thing, have only used it once, so that I could be walked through all the programming and steps involved to put an image together. I prefer the Sammy for doing the moon. Its easy to use and produces a pretty decent image in my opinion.
