Hi folks, My name is Mark, have been into astronomy for many years now. I live in the light polluted suburbs of Northern New Jersey, but still manage to get to dark skies. I belong to a few clubs including Amateur Astronomers Inc.( asterism.org), and President of North Jersey Astronomical Group ( njastro.org). I 'm a Geologist by trade, and my interests between that and Astronomy do overlap. Ive got a few scopes: C11, c8, 10 & 12" dobs etc. + more... Very glad to meet everyone! Best, Mark

Gday Blokes and Sheilas. Live in Logan City Queensland Downunder. Glad to be aboard NightSkies. I am very new to astronomy only had scope since xmas, slowing getting stuff together and learning heaps from you peples on the network. Waiting till July so I can upgrade mount and cam(tax return time). Doing just planetary stuff at present with my new board cam. We all have to start somewhere, best place is our own backyard I suppose. Equipment (114/900 Skywatcher EQ1 mount DIY remote motor focuser which will be upgraded to ardunio in next few weeks).
Cheers
Steve
P.S.
Joe, is it possible to change broadcast name to Logan Skies DownUnder. Thanks

Chris here.
Hi ! I'm in the northern suburban fringes of Sydney. Started astronomy mid last year and video after an interesting thread on iceinspace late last year. My history with astronomy starts with building a telescope with my brother when we were teenagers – a disaster waiting to happen. Last year my son did astrophysics as part of physics in his last year of school. I got talking to his teacher at parent-teacher night and we got onto telescopes (rather than my son's progress). That got me going. I’m a scientist of sorts (neuroscience) and stupidly I thought that a telescope would be simple as I use microscopes/lasers etc on a daily basis – another disaster waiting to happen.
So now I’ve got a revolution imager (1st gen) and a ZWO ASI224MC on my 80mm refractor. Have joined the Northern Sydney Astro Society. Been on the astrovideoforum for a while, and now looking at NSN. I’ll eventually get to doing a broadcast. But where in the house I can do that and rant (out loud) and not disturb the family ? In the meantime I just do a night session here and there, then make pictures for ‘show and tell’ on cloudynights occasionally.
Where do I get one of Rick's polo shirts ? Chris

Chris, do you mean one of these shirts? You don't need to use Audio to broadcast. Many Broadcasters don't talk or use any Audio. At a rough guess I would say that less than half the Broadcasters talk during their broadcasts. And also, even when you do talk during your broadcast, often most of the viewers aren't listening anyway, or can't listen (at work, kids sleeping, can't be bothered, etc) So, go ahead and ask Joe for a Channel, get broadcasting, and don't worry about sound.

Or lol chose not to. Chris At one point you had your mic on and we were hearing very distracting background noise from a TV or something and I believe your wife was also talking to you. Don waiting patiently and tried to reach out to you to let you know that the distracting background was overpowering and to mute your mic. You did not respond or mute the mic so Don had to do it. After a period of time Don unmuted you and tried to tell you that he was hearing you before but again you did not respond. On NSN.com we are a very friendly group and would never ignor you unless you were out of line. Keep working on it, I know Ken at one time had sound issues and resolved it. Chris A
